Buying a Shuttle Bus Sight Unseen: How a Vermont Farm Bought Two From Us

A family farm in Vermont needed buses to carry its crew. They never set foot in our Huntington, NY yard. Instead, Paul and his family bought two reconditioned shuttle buses from us sight unseen, based on our detailed listings, our photos, their conversations with Manny, and a recommendation from a Vermont bus expert who had bought from us before.

Here is how it worked, what we did to the buses before they left, and how you can buy a bus the same way from anywhere in the country.

The Two Buses

2016 Ford Non-CDL 12/2 Wheelchair Shuttle Bus (B1032): airport-style seating, wheelchair lift, and no CDL needed to drive it.

2016 Ford E-450 20/2 Wheelchair Shuttle Bus (B1001): room for 20 passengers or 2 wheelchair positions, built for moving a full crew.

What We Fixed Before They Left Our Yard

Manny drives every bus himself before it is sold, and anything he doesn't like gets fixed first. These two were no exception:

  • New roof covering: one bus had a roof that was okay, but not great. It got a full new roof covering.
  • Jasper rebuilt transmission: the other bus had a transmission that didn't shift perfectly on the test drive. It got a Jasper rebuilt transmission with a nationwide warranty.

A lot of dealers would have sold both buses as they were. We spend the money because buses that carry a crew every day have to be right, and because we would rather build a relationship than make a single sale. Paul and his family were patient while the work was done, and their team drove both buses home to Vermont without an issue.

In the Customer's Words

"Manny was incredibly helpful and accommodating during the entire buying process. The busses we got were thoroughly gone through and meticulously cared for. Manny drove the busses himself and anything he didn't like about them was fixed before we picked them up. When we picked the busses up from them they were freshly cleaned. It is clear that Manny takes great pride in his work and does his best to make sure his customers are happy! You can definitely trust any vehicle coming from Manny to be reliable and in good condition!"
